Can you replace just one broken glass railing panel?
Yes. Single-panel replacement is one of our most common railing jobs. We measure the opening, check the post or channel hardware, and cut and temper a matching panel. If the glass is shattered, we can make the area safe first.
What kind of glass is used for railings?
Railings use tempered safety glass, typically 3/8" to 1/2" thick, or laminated glass where the design requires it. Clear is most common; low-iron (ultra-clear), frosted and tinted glass are also available.
Do glass railings need a permit?
Guards on decks, balconies and stairs must meet the Ontario Building Code for height and load, and some new installations require a permit. We'll tell you what applies to your project, and condo installations usually also need board approval.
