How do I measure glass for a table top or shelf?
Measure the width and depth in inches to the nearest 1/16", at two or three points, and use the smallest number. For round or oddly shaped tables, trace the top onto kraft paper and bring or photograph the template. If you're unsure, send us a photo with a tape measure in it and we'll help.
What thickness of glass do I need?
Picture frames and cabinet inserts usually use 1/8" (3mm). Table protectors and light shelves use 1/4" (6mm). Free-standing table tops and heavier shelves typically need 3/8" to 1/2" tempered glass. Tell us how the glass will be used and we'll recommend the right thickness.
Can you cut mirrors to size too?
Yes. We cut mirror for vanities, closet doors, gyms, wardrobes and decorative walls, with polished or bevelled edges, and can drill holes for outlets, standoffs or hardware.
Can tempered glass be cut after it is made?
No. Tempered glass shatters if cut, so it has to be cut, edged and drilled to final size first and then tempered. That's why tempered orders take a little longer than plain annealed glass.
